Advantage Program
The ADVANTAGE Program is designed for secondary students with diverse learning needs who require differentiated opportunities to develop literacy, numeracy, learning skills, technology skills, functional life skills, employability skills, and well-being in a dynamic, Christ-centered learning environment.
Students in this 4–5-year intensive support program work towards completion of the requirements of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). In some cases, a student may work towards completion of the requirements of an Ontario Secondary School Certificate (OSSC).
Benefits
Within the ADVANTAGE Program, students benefit from a safe and highly structured learning environment one period each semester, which incorporates specialized programming to meet individual alternative curriculum needs, remedial instruction, experiential learning opportunities, and academic support.
Within the scheduled program period, a qualified special education teacher develops, delivers, and reports on alternative curriculum and utilizes strategies that target the development of literacy, numeracy, learning skills, technology skills, functional life skills, employability skills, and well-being.
